Consultation

This is the initial meeting to discuss the project, explore options and establish a budget and fees estimate. It is an opportunity to explain the process and also establish a comfortable working relationship between client and designer.

Design & Sketch

A sketch plan of the initial design, consisting of a floor plan with perspective and/or elevations, is created in response to the client’s brief. It is a starting point and provides a basis for further discussion and refinement as required.

Working Drawings & Specifications

When the design process is essentially completed detailed technical drawings and a written specification of the project are produced. These documents will be used for pricing, tendering and building consent application.

The co-ordination of other consultants required by the project will be undertaken as necessary.

Consent & Tendering

Paperwork for the consent application will be provided and competitive tendering arranged.

Contract Observation

If requested contract observation can be provided, which includes monitoring progress, checking and approval of contractor’s payment claims and final checks at completion.

Consultants

When required, engagement of structural and/or mechanical engineers, surveyors, landscapers etc. will be arranged on the clients behalf.

Additional Services

These include site selection and pre-purchase suitability advice, assistance with colour schemes etc.
